Cats

Much of the information on our web site relates to dog’s but cats can and are safely contained using the DogWatch fence systems. Naturally we recommend that you choose from either our lightweight R7 or R1200m receivers – weighing 40g inc battery they are small enough and light enough for all breeds of cats.

We cannot offer onsite training for cats as most cats do not walk on a lead and, therefore, the training programme has been adapted for cats. We are still happy; however, to install your system, advice on the correct collar fit and talk to you about the cat training programme. For our self install customers and our installed customers we will give you written information on cat training protocol and we are always only a phone call away. Please call our office staff for further information.

Our starting levels on both the R7 & R1200m have been carefully considered to take into account that cats may need low level stimulation.

When installing a system for cats or for both cats and dogs, it is important to closely consider the placement of the boundary wire to avoid enabling the cat to climb out over the signal field.

As with all our systems your cat also be trained to the indoor system – I50. The I50 works with your receiver collar (R1200m or R7) and can be placed to exclude your cat from rooms, stairways, beds or sofas. Further information on the I50 is available on our web site or call us for more information.
