Does
the dog fence have to be buried?
No,
you can surface lay the cable, tack to existing
fencing, or run your cable through hedges. We
do advice that you make any cuts across driveways
and place the cable just under the ground, however,
you can run the cable through hose or conduit
to give added protection if you feel you are
unable to cut your driveway.
Installation
Service
DogFence
offer a full installation & training service
by our own trained staff. The DogFence staff
will discuss your requirements with you and
on the day of installation, will walk the property
to survey the terrain and determine the best
route for the fence for both you and your dog/s.
Where
possible the fence will be buried using our
unique cabling system. This makes the fence
not only invisible but also reduces the chance
of the cable being damaged.
Once
your system is installed, the installer will
commence the training with your dog/s on the
hidden fence. If you have more than 1 dog, he
will carry out the training individually. After
the training period, the installer will speak
to you about your dogs progress and run through
a reinforcing programme for the next 2 - 3 days
(this is usually around 10 – 15 mins)
per day.
All
dogs are different, as with people, they all
have different personalities and we advice our
customers not to expect each dog to react in
the same way. Some dogs require very little
reinforcing training, accepting and understanding
the fence almost immediately, whereas others
need reassurance and guidance to gain confidence
in this new boundaries concept. All dogs should
be proficient with the dog fence system within
10 days. |
